AODA Customer Service Workshop
We are now offering a workshop to assist people with accessible customer service techniques.
Upon completion of this workshop you will be able to accommodate all your customers in your work and surrounding environment.
The hands on exercises below will ensure your compliance with the Customer Service Standard under the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act and other legislations.
This workshop will consist of five CNIB Accessibility Experts who will give you the experience and knowledge to break the accessibility barrier.

Details:
Lunch and Beverages included if the workshop is held at CNIB center (Onsite cost is $650). The offsite Cost is $700 per person which includes transportation of specialists and supplies. This workshop is limited to a maximum of 50 participants.

Web Accessibility Design and Usability – September 21st 2010

CNIB offers this comprehensive hands-on full day workshop to introduce web professionals to the field of web accessibility.
This hands-on workshop will help you understand how people with vision loss and other disabilities use the web and introduce some common adaptive technologies and basic techniques you can use to make your website more accessible.
The workshop is offered in a classroom fully equipped with adaptive software and hardware. Participants will receive documentation and handouts.

PDF Accessibility – September 22nd 2010
This workshop is targeted to anyone who creates or works with electronic forms and documents, providing accessible information should be a part of what you do every day. But do you have what it takes to accommodate people with vision loss?
Learn what’s involved in providing barrier-free information from this comprehensive one-day seminar specifically on document design and conversion using Adobe Pro 9.
In this workshop, you will:
- Learn the best practices of accessible electronic design, which you can implement today.
- Understand how people with vision loss use assistive technology to read or review PDF forms and documents
- Learn how to check electronic documents for accessibility.
- Learn the principles of WCAG 2.0 and Section 508 of the U.S. Rehabilitation act in relation to accessible files.
- Be able to identify the differences between accessible and inaccessible forms and documents.
- Receive real-world tips on Accessible PDF’s, including accessible forms, Images, and document formatting.
- Participate in an open discussion about PDF creations and accessibility with CNIB experts and get your questions answered.
